We all get a good feeling when we see how adopting a new dog from a shelter changes both the dog’s life and the life of the person who is adopting. And we should! Watching how a dog’s life changes when he finally gets a chance to experience a loving family and home should melt anyone’s heart.
Adopting a pet is a big responsibility, and it will often change the life of the person adopting the pet. It will also, however, absolutely change the life of the pet being adopted as well. It may take a while for some of these pets to get back to proper nutrition, but the change in many of them is psychological, not physical.
